Issey Miyake launched the Pleats Please line in 1993. He patented the garment pleating that centers on pleating the actual clothing rather than just the fabric. The process involves constructing the pieces much larger than their desired finished size and then folding, ironing, and lacing them, sandwiched between paper, into a heat press. The wonderful thing about Issey Miyake pleated pieces is that they are permanently pleated and can be washed and air dried without losing their shape. This makes them so easy to care for and to travel with!

This Issey Miyake Pleats Please bold raspberry red Issey dress is so versatile and an be worn during the day or accessorized for an evening out! The dress has hundreds of horizontal plisse pleats (8 per inch) that span the length of the dress. The top of the dress is a sleeveless tank style and the length extends just above the ankle with a slight A-line silhouette. The dress has been folded over on itself to create a vertical line of 1/2'' extruding fabric at mid calf. 

Made in Japan and labeled a Miyake size 4 or large.

Fabric: The fabric is a 100% Polyester Material with a slight stretch to create a light and flowing feel.
